San Borondón, también llamada San Brandán, da nombre a una isla canaria legendaria, porque es leyenda. Forma parte de los cientos de mitos y leyendas sobre islas que emergen y desaparecen de manera incontroloda, o que incluso cambian de ubicación.
En el caso de San Borondón, estaríamos ante la octava isla canaria, octava isla grande, se supone, que según unos estaría más al oeste que el resto, y según otros, estaría entre las islas de El Hierro, La Palma y La Gomera. El mito de San Borondón ha penetrado profundamente en el subconsciente de los canarios, y aunque otras teorías (o leyendas, mejor dicho) afirman que esta isla errante pudiera estar mucho más al oeste, de tal manera que incluso no formaría parte del archipiélago, para los canarios San Borondón, es ya, de hecho, una isla más, aunque, claro está, totalmente mitológica.

San Borondón, also called St. Brendan, is named after a legendary Canary Island because it is legend. Part of the hundreds of myths and legends about islands that emerge and disappear incontroloda way, or even change locations.
For San Borondón, this would be the eighth Canary Island eighth largest island, it is assumed, which according to some would be further west than the rest, and according to others, would be among the islands of El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera. The Myth of St. Borondón has penetrated deep into the subconscious of the Canaries, although other theories (or legends, rather) say that this island might be wandering much farther west, so that not even form part of the archipelago, to San Borondón canaries, is already, in fact, another island, although, of course, entirely mythological.
